Alkaline pH Levels & How to Test Them
Alkaline Water Levels
The Ivyel ionizer produces four levels of alkaline reduced water:
- Level 1: pH 8.5
- Level 2: pH 9.0
- Level 3: pH 9.5
- Level 4: pH 10.0
Because mineral content varies from one location to another, the exact pH output at each level may differ slightly depending on your local tap water. This is completely normal and can be adjusted if needed.
How to test your water's pH level
To verify each alkaline level, use the liquid pH test solution included in your Ivyel box.
Step-by-step testing instructions:
- Run the water for 15–20 seconds at the selected level.
- Collect about 10 cc of water in the included plastic test cup.
- Add approximately 3 drops of the pH test solution.
- Stir gently and observe the color.
Expected pH Test Colors
- Level 1: Green
- Level 2: Dark green or blue
- Level 3: Deep blue or light purple
- Level 4: Purple
These colors indicate that your ionizer is operating within normal settings.
⚠️ Note: Paper strip pH test kits commonly sold on the market can be inaccurate and are not recommended for testing ionized water.
For reliable readings, always use:
- The included liquid pH test solution, or
- A digital / electronic pH tester
If all levels show the same color (for example, all green), your system may need a pH adjustment to better match your local water quality.
