A bidet is a device designed to improve hygiene after using the toilet by cleaning with water instead of relying only on toilet paper.

It works by replacing your existing toilet seat with a bidet seat. When you press a button, a nozzle extends and sprays a stream of water to gently wash the area around the anus.

The anus is made up of thousands of folds. When wiping with toilet paper, waste can spread into these folds rather than being fully removed, which can lead to hygiene concerns. Washing with water allows for more thorough and hygienic cleaning, leaving you feeling fresher and cleaner after each use.

Toilet paper alone cannot completely remove fecal residue. Many people notice that even after wiping, additional residue is washed away when using a bidet. Additionally, some toilet paper contains chemical substances such as fluorescent whitening agents that make it appear bright white. These chemicals can cause irritation or itching around sensitive areas for some people.

Yes. The water used in a bidet does not come from the toilet tank. A T-adapter connects the bidet directly to the same fresh tap water line that supplies the toilet. Just as we do not consider shower water unhygienic, bidets use clean tap water, so there is no reason for concern.

Water usage varies by model, but on average a bidet uses about 1/8 gallon of water per use. Because this amount is minimal, it usually has little to no noticeable impact on household water bills.

This depends on usage and care, but the average lifespan of a bidet is generally around 5–7 years. To provide peace of mind, Ivyel offers a competitive warranty, so you don’t have to worry about unexpected issues during normal use.

Ivyel bidet seats can support up to 330lbs.

Sit on the bidet seat and press the wash or bidet button to start the water spray. Before use, adjust the seat temperature and water temperature to a comfortable level.

The nozzle will spray water to clean the area, typically for about 1–2 minutes depending on the model. After washing, lightly wipe away excess water with toilet paper.

You can then use the bidet’s drying function if available. (Some models do not include a drying function—in that case, simply dry thoroughly with toilet paper.)

It’s normal to feel hesitant at first. Once you get past the initial mental barrier of having water sprayed on your body, most people find that using a bidet feels clean, comfortable, and far more hygienic than wiping with toilet paper alone.

No. Ivyel bidet nozzles mix water with air bubbles, creating a soft and comfortable spray that cleans effectively without causing pain or discomfort.

Yes. All of our bidet products include a handy remote control that adjusts water temperature and pressure. While the nozzle is spraying, you can easily adjust the water pressure using the control buttons to make it stronger or gentler based on your preference.

A small amount of toilet paper is typically used to pat dry after washing.

While some bidets include a drying function, similar to using a hair dryer on wet hair, it can take time to fully dry the area. Many users prefer to wipe off moisture first and then use the drying function as needed.
(Some models do not include a drying function.)

After childbirth, wiping sensitive areas with toilet paper can cause significant irritation. A bidet’s gentle water stream cleans thoroughly without friction and can help support a more comfortable recovery process.

Warm bidet water can also help promote blood circulation in the anal area. For those experiencing hemorrhoids or constipation after delivery, a bidet allows hygienic care without added irritation, making it especially helpful during postpartum recovery.

During pregnancy, as the abdomen grows and wiping becomes more difficult, a bidet provides a convenient and hygienic solution that can greatly reduce discomfort for expectant mothers.

If you have specific medical conditions or concerns, it’s always a good idea to start gently and consult a healthcare professional if unsure.

Yes. For individuals with limited mobility who find it difficult to wipe with toilet paper, a bidet allows for hygienic cleaning with the push of a button, reducing physical strain and increasing independence.

Yes. Ivyel bidets include a dedicated children’s mode designed specifically for younger users.

Water pressure and nozzle position are automatically adjusted to suit children’s skin sensitivity and body structure. Many children as young as 2–3 years old, once they can sit securely on the toilet, enjoy the gentle cleaning experience.

For children who struggle with wiping, a bidet can make bathroom routines easier and is especially helpful during toilet training.

No. Installing a bidet is simple and can be done by most people, even without prior plumbing experience.

Installation involves removing your existing toilet seat and securing the bidet seat in its place. Water is connected using a T-adapter that attaches to the toilet’s tap water supply. By following the installation video, most people can complete the process without difficulty.

Even when done slowly, installation usually takes about 1 hour.

Bidets are available in two sizes: elongated (oval-shaped) and round. We have a fit guide for you to find which size matches your toilet shape. Find the fit

However, bidets cannot be installed on one-piece toilets with a French curve design, so please check compatibility in advance.

Yes. Ivyel bidets require a power connection. The power cord is approximately 4 feet long, so if the outlet is farther away, an extension cord may be needed.

In most cases, no. Installation typically involves simple connections following the provided video guide. We recommend watching the installation video first to assess your comfort level.

Installation policies vary by property. Please check with your landlord or property management office before installing a bidet.

When the remote control cannot be controlled due to a lack of battery or malfunction, you can use the functions of the bidet, wash, and stop buttons attached to the bidet body for emergency purposes.

If your bidet does not work for any reason, a factory reset may resolve many issues.

The factory reset method is as follows:

Keep pressing the stop button (If you have a remote control model, use the button on the side of the bidet, not the remote) without releasing your hand, and the bidet will turn off with a "tiri~ring" sound.

And if you keep holding the button down, the bidet will turn on again with a "tiri~ring" sound. (At this time it is important to keep pressing the stop button without releasing your hand.

If you accidentally release your hand, turn it on again and redo the entire process from the beginning.

After that, pull the electric cord out of the outlet and reconnect it after 5 minutes.

The T-adapter connection part installed on the toilet water tank part contains a rubber ring to prevent leakage. If the rubber ring is missing, water will leak.

Be sure to check it before installation.

Check that the bidet hose connections are well connected.

Yes, the bidet lid and seat have a soft closing function that closes slowly. It prevents the lid or seat from slamming shut, reducing the risk of breakage and preventing injury to the user. As a part of this process, there is a damper, and it is the sound of this part operating which is normal.

In many cases, the battery needs to be replaced. Replace it with a new battery and try again. It is normal for the LED lights to come on and off for a while after pressing the remote control button.

If your nozzle is coming out of the bidet, but water doesn't come out, it is most likely the blue rubber part of the nozzle that needs to be replaced. Please refer to the video below for reference.

If your seat is not warming up, please check that the seat temperature is on the warmest setting (red). Also make sure the energy savings is off. If your energy savings is on, this may cause your seat to warm up after you sit on it, rather than it always being warm. For more details, please contact our support team.

Please make sure the water temperature is on red. If your water is not warming up, please do a factory reset. If that still does not resolve your issue, it is most likely the water tank that needs to be replaced. You can find this part in our bidet parts page, or you can also contact our support team.

The issue with your remote not working in the restroom could be due to the bathroom lights. Fluorescent light bulbs emit electromagnetic radiation, which can interfere with the signals from your remote control. The interference can cause the signal to become weaker or distorted, making it difficult or impossible for the remote to control the device it is intended for.

One way to solve this problem is to replace the fluorescent lamp with a different type of light source that emits less electromagnetic radiation, such as an LED or incandescent bulb. Another solution is to try using a remote control with a higher frequency or a stronger signal, which may be less susceptible to interference from the fluorescent lamp.

To check if the remote doesn't work properly due to the light, simply turn off your bathroom lights and try using the remote. If it works without a problem, then you can be sure it is a problem caused by the fluorescent lights.

Seat cracks, spotting, discoloring are caused due to the cleaning products used to clean your bidet. Our bidet, along with all the other major bidet companies use a flame retardant type of plastic (ABS). This material can change colors and eventually crack if it is cleaned by products including chemicals, acidic detergents, etc. The best way to clean your bidet is by following our cleaning instructions to prevent this from happening. Please note that seats and bidet lids can be replaced.

You can easily adjust the water pressure from the control by pressing on the + / - buttons while the bidet is in use. Sometimes, you can have serious inflammation or be extra sensitive due to hemorrhoids, UTI, etc. If that is the case, we recommend you to use the child feature as it is even lower in pressure.

If your water pressure is lower than usual, it may be possible that the waterway is blocked. Please try disconnecting the water supply hose and checking that the hose is not the issue.

Chemical cleaners should not be used, as they may cause discoloration or cracking of bidet plastics. Even air fresheners can cause black discoloration if they come into contact with the surface.

For cleaning and disinfection, we recommend spraying liquid alcohol and wiping with kitchen paper towels. Use the nozzle cleaning function to extend the nozzle and wipe it gently with alcohol as well.

To clean underneath the bidet, use the seat release button to detach the seat and clean the underside.

When viewed from the front of the toilet, the bidet release button is located on the lower right rear side of the bidet. Pull the bidet body forward while pressing this button to separate the bidet from the toilet. Then you may clean the lower part of the bidet.

When the nozzle cleaning button is pressed, the nozzle automatically cleans itself 3 times and then stops. For extra cleaning, you can use a soft-bristle toothbrush to clean the nozzle. After brushing, wipe down the nozzle with soap and water to remove any remaining debris. You can sanitize the toothbrush with hydrogen peroxide to ensure safe storage.

No special maintenance is required. Cleaning frequency depends on personal habits and preferences

If you have an Ivyel J-2 or GL-3 Series, we recommend draining the water from the unit before leaving your house for a few days. If you have the AP-7 Series, there is no need for this procedure because it is a tankless bidet. Please refer to the video below for how to drain the water from the bidet.
