How to Clean a Bidet

Bidet toilet seats are usually made from a flame retardant hard plastic material like ABS or polypropylene. It is also finished with a glossy look to ensure its good looks. However, this material can discolor, deteriorate and crack if not cared for properly. It is important to avoid cleaning your bidet with harsh abrasives or chemical based cleaning products. Please be careful of organic products as well because many times these products contain ingredients that can damage your bide.

To safely clean your bidet, you should follow these steps:

1. Turn off the power: Before cleaning, turn off the power to the bidet toilet seat to avoid any electrical shock. You can do this by pressing on the STOP button for a few seconds until the bidet powers off. Then unplug the power cord.

2. Wipe with a soft cloth: Use a soft cloth or microfiber towel to wipe the exterior of the bidet toilet seat. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that can scratch the surface. Using acidic cleaning products may cause your bidet seat to discolor or crack.

3. Use mild soap or alcohol: Add a few drops of mild antibacterial soap to a bucket of warm water, and use a soft cloth or sponge to clean the bidet toilet seat. Rinse the cloth or sponge frequently in the bucket to avoid spreading germs. You may also use alcohol to clean the bidet.

4. Rinse thoroughly: After cleaning, rinse the bidet thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap or alcohol residue.

5. Dry completely: Use a clean towel or cloth to dry the bidet toilet seat completely before turning the power back on.

By following these steps, you can safely clean your bidet and keep it germ-free.

How to Clean the Nozzle

Our Ivyel bidets all include a self-cleaning nozzle that cuts you the hassle of having to manually clean the nozzle constantly. However, if you would still like to manually clean the nozzle, press on the nozzle cleaning button. Once the nozzle is done cleaning automatically, it will stay out for two minutes. During these two minutes, please clean the nozzle with a soft toothbrush or wipe. After you are done manually cleaning the nozzle, press on the STOP button for the nozzle to retract back in.

When choosing a bidet, there are several factors you should consider:

1. Type of Bidet

Consider which type of bidet will work best for your needs and your bathroom's layout.

2. Water Temperature and Pressure

Some bidets offer adjustable water temperature and pressure, while others have fixed settings. Consider what you prefer and what will work best for your bathroom's plumbing.

3. Ease of Use

Look for a bidet that is easy to use and has intuitive controls. Remotes may be preferred for some users as side panels are inconvenient for some people.

4. Installation

Consider how easy the bidet is to install and whether you'll need professional help. Usually, standalone bidets require the most work.

5. Additional Features

Some bidets offer additional features such as a heated seat, air dryer, deodorizer, massage, child feature, and more. Consider which features are important to you.

6. Budget

Bidets can range in price from under $50 for a basic attachment to several thousand dollars for a high-end standalone bidets. Consider your budget and what features you can afford.

A bidet can be a great addition to your bathroom, providing a more hygienic and comfortable experience. When buying a bidet, consider the type of bidet, water temperature and pressure, ease of use, installation, additional features, and your budget. With these factors in mind, you'll be able to choose the perfect bidet for your needs and enjoy a more comfortable bathroom experience.
